Councillor Lorna Fielker
Councillor for Swaythling
Cllr Lorna Fielker has represented Swaythling ward since 2018. She is a former Leader of the Council and has held Cabinet responsibilities for adult social care, public health, housing, and leisure. As Leader, Lorna focused on protecting vital services, building partnerships across the region, and promoting investment in Southampton’s future.
Outside of politics, Lorna is a Senior Research Manager at the National Institute of Health and Care Research and a Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Southampton, where she studies the impact of GDPR on voluntary organisations. She also has a professional background in local government, social housing, and the voluntary sector.
Lorna has always had a strong sense of fairness and is driven by a belief in an equitable society that addresses inequality and values everyone. She sees local government as having a vital role in building inclusive communities where all residents can thrive.
